I feel like an ass saying it…
…but when has that stopped me?
I feel like I may be better at documenting and overall careful science than many my new co-workers. Granted this is a young company and they’re in the middle of the rough transition from care-free R&D documentation to hyper-critical production-standard GLP shit but then I’m a pretty young guy and I feel like these older industry types should have this tedium stuff down pat. I did have the importance of documentation pounded into my head at school and then even more so during my brief but educational stint in pharmaceuticals; could it be that from those two little sources I’ve got more of a mastery on this stuff than these people that have been doing this for decades? I mean the analytical chemist I work with used to work for the government in a secret mountain lab (seriously, he worked on designing rocket fuels in a huge complex that was hidden from view, cut into the side of a mountain). Surely he has to have a better grasp on this stuff. Maybe they’re not taking it seriously? (which they’d better start doing if they ever want to start putting their stents into human beings)
I really gotta figure out who writes out all the SOPs and stuff so I don’t accidentally complain about this to their face.
